He was born in 1985 in Istanbul. He has been making plans for rural collective life and ecovillage

since he was 16 years old; started to realize these dreams by moving to the countryside in 2012

with the idea of Ormanevi Collective, which they founded in 2005. He is one of the founders of

the Green Newspaper. After Galatasaray University International Relations department, he

completed his master's degree in 'Rural Development' and 'Environmental Communication and

Management' at SLU (university) in Sweden. He wrote his master's theses on local economic

movements in the Jamtland region of Sweden and the collective use of pasturelands within the

framework of Holistic Management. After returning to Turkey, he first worked as Environmental

Policy Coordinator at TEMA Foundation, and after returning to the countryside, she worked as a

Rural Development Specialist on a part-time basis. In the same period, he worked as the

coordinator of the Buğday Association for Supporting Ecological Life Seed Exchange Network.

Blues fan, loves improvisation. His professional work includes farming, shepherding, holistic land

management and financial planning, editorial, project management, facilitator and trainer. He

reduces and focuses them, as he gets older.

 

Since 2018, he has been providing consultancy to the projects of international institutions,

especially the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), at home and abroad. To

date, he has worked for Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Sweden outside of Turkey. It develops and

disseminates pioneering regenerative agriculture and food models. In 2020, he started investing

in regenerative ventures individually. He was named an Ashoka Fellow in 2017.

 

He received his Holistic Management Training firstly from Allan Savory at the “Hub Leaders Boot

Camp” organized by the Savory Institute in Colorado, USA in June 2013. Then, in April 2014, he

successfully completed the private training held in Spain and became a Savory Institute certified

trainer. He gave many accredited training and consultancy services in Turkey and abroad.
